Happy beginning of the season!

Hello Fellow Club Chefs.  Happy Beginning of the Season to you all!! I hope everyone has been able to get their staff together and ready to have a great summer!  We had a great meeting/spring trip to Westtown Brewery and Black Dirt Distillery on Monday April 25th. The weather cooperated and we were able to taste some local beer, whisky, farm fresh milk, ice cream and super intense maple syrup. Special thanks to John Krall for helping organized the trip, we had a good turn out of 36 chefs.

 

We also received a $10,000 check from the Metropolitan Mangers for the job well done at the vendor show! It is a great donation that really helps to keep our organization financially stable. Speaking of which, it is time to send in your dues as soon as you can before the season takes you over!

 

At the meeting the new board was installed as follow, VP-Norberto Marqeuz Executive Chef at Leewood Golf Club Treasurer-Joe Moore Executive Chef at Manhasset Bay Yacht Club Secretary-Nicole McGee Executive Sous Chef at Manursing Island Club President-Austin Braswell Executive Chef at Milbrook Club......which is why you are receiving this email for me! I would like to say many thanks to our dedicated members on the previous board for their leadership, time, and professionalism in every aspect of our association. Special shout out to Andy who spent the last 6 years as treasurer! Most thankful to Lorcan for his role the last 2 years planning all the events, 2 very successful trips and working with the new board in the transition!

 

Our next meeting is going to be held at Metropolis Golf Club with Executive Chef Bryce Baird Tuesday May 17th. Cocktails will start at 6:00 PM followed by the meeting and dinner. This is his first meeting as the host club and he is very excited to cook for us all. I hope that we can have a good turn out to support him! Please RSVP to me or Chef Bryce if you are able to attend.

 

This will be that last meeting we will have until after the season. We are going to push back our June dinner to Tuesday July 12th. We have found that is has been too busy for most to take a night off in June and had a good turn out last year with July date. We are going to have a Suckling Pig Roast at the Cookery in Dobbs Ferry, NY with Chef Dave DiBarie.
