December 2014 Newsletter
Hello Fellow Chefs,
Let me start by wishing all of you and your families a very Happy Holiday Season and Healthy New Year.
Our year is coming to a close and a new one is upon us. Time sure does fly when we are having fun!! Except in the middle of July when it seems like the days are endless and the printer just doesn’t stop spitting out chits for dinners for the never-ending stream of members that keep us gainfully employed!!
We had our December meeting on Tuesday December 16 at Rockland Country Club. Many thanks to Chef Anton Brunner and his staff and to GM Michael Pacella for hosting. Anton put on a great meal as usual and we had a fantastic education segment provided by Sous Chef Joe Moore from Shenorock Shore Club. He demonstrated a Gateaux de Foie Gras which was absolutely delicious and expertly prepared.
The meeting was mainly devoted to our upcoming trip to England and Ireland and we also discussed doing a day trip to the CIA Hyde Park in late February or early March for a one day class and dinner afterwards. I will keep you informed as we get more information. We do however need to schedule a meeting in February, we might do it at a restaurant or if anybody wants to host we would certainly appreciate that.
Finally, if you have not paid you dues, please do so as soon as possible. If you are not fully paid up, you will not be able to attend meetings or participate in Association sponsored activities. Please contact Dan Neuroth at dneuroth@bfcoffice.com to confirm your dues status.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Sincerely,
Lorcan
