October 2014 Newsletter

Hello Fellow Club Chefs,

We had our October meeting at Willow Ridge Country Club on October 7th, hosted by Chef John Chevalier.

I would like to thank John and his Food and Beverage team for hosting us. John and his team put out a fantastic meal, with a variety of exceptional Hors d’ Oeuvres for all to sample.

We had a good attendance on the night and had a very informative education segment provided by Andre Mendoza from Arriba Gold Chocolate. His demonstration was very interesting and the product itself is very good.

The Annual Golf Outing was a tremendous success and we raised $20,000 for the Chris Gasse Educational Fund. I would like to thank Lenny Philips for all of his hard work in organizing, planning and running the event. My thanks also to my home club Metropolis CC, my GM Tracy Fraus, AGM Chris Cecala and Dining Room Manager Alicia Austin for their hard work on the day. A special thank you to all of our sponsors, purveyors and the Chefs and Managers who helped make the day the success that it was.

We had a discussion about our January trip to England and Ireland which Mike and John are working diligently to complete. It looks like we may already have our full number of participants booked but if you are interested in going please let John or Mike know and they will put you on the wait list.

Our next meeting will be held at Manursing Island Club hosted by Chef John Krall. It will be held on Wednesday November 5th at 6pm. Please reply to John at
