Hello Fellow Chefs!
Well, our July Dinner at The Inn at Pound Ridge was a great success. The setting was beautiful, the food was terrific and the company was great. I would like to thank Andrew Howgego for all of his hard work in planning the event. It really was a memorable occasion and if you were not able to attend I would highly recommend it for a special occasion.
Coming up in September is our Annual Golf Outing. The Chris Gasse Family Education Fund Charity Golf Outing. It will be hosted by my home club Metropolis Country Club on September 29 or 30. We are in the planning process right now and as soon as we have a confirmed date I will send out a further email. I have to await Board approval from Metropolis before I can give the actual day and date. It will either be Monday 29 or Tuesday 30 of September.
We have done some major renovations on our course and it has become quite a challenging course so I encourage you to bring your A game and maybe a ringer if you really want to win!!
I am working with Chef Lenny Phillips trying to get as many sponsors for the event as possible, and this year we are offering Hole Sponsorships to raise more funds. Hole sponsorship will be $100 per hole and the sponsors name will be displayed on the appropriate hole, if you know of any purveyors, suppliers or vendors that may be interested, please contact Chef Lenny at firstname.lastname@example.org also if you or your club would like to sponsor a hole you may do so.
I would also ask you to try and get donations from your Golf Pros and Tennis Pros as well as asking for a Foursome donation from your General Managers for our auction. These raffle and auction prizes are very important to us in the fundraising area. Please email Lenny with your reservations and let him know if you have any prizes to offer for the raffle or auction. We are hoping for a big turnout again this year and remember if you cant attend the golf outing you are still welcome to join us afterwards for the cocktail reception and raffle etc. When we confirm the date we will send out a separate email detailing all of the costs for the event.
On a different note, I have attached a Dues Form to this email for 2014/15. Please download and print it and of course submit it to your accounts payable so we can get our dues in early!! If you need a hard copy of it mailed to you at your club, please email me and I will gladly send you one.
We are also in the very early stages of planning the January 2015 trip to Ireland and England. Mike Dolan and John Krall are working to develop a great trip for us, I will send out info as we get it.
