October 2012 Newsletter

Dear Fellow Club Chefs,

On last Monday we had our annual Chris Gasse Family Trust Outing, hosted by Executive Chef Tony Nunes and Genral Manager John Assumma at Waccabuc Country Club. Many Thanks to Chef Tony and his staff as well as Lenny Phillips for helping organize this event. Thanks to everyone’s support we raised a significant amount of money for the Gasse family.

Our October meeting will be on October 23, 2012 at 6pm at The American Yacht Club hosted by Executive Chef Maurice Hurley. Our education will be provided by Chef Scott Bryan of Apiary in NYC. Chef Scott will be speaking about his career and trends in NYC restaurants and possibly a demo of some of his food. Please RSVP to chefpsh@yahoo.com or Chef Maurice at 914 967-4800. Chef Scott has worked in many famous restaurants in NY and has also appeared in Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential. I think this will be an amazing event and well attended so please RSVP ASAP.

November brings us a very busy month for Club Chefs of Westchester. Our Long Island Vineyard bus rip to the east end is on November 5, 2012. This trip is limited to 48 members. I have invited Club Chefs of Connecticut and Metropolitan Club Chefs to join us on this fun educational day.

The cost of the event for non Club Chefs of Westchester members is $132.00 per person. This includes transportation, three wine tastings a goat cheese tasting and demo as well as a beer tasting ending the night with dinner at The Plaza Cafe in South Hampton. We will be leaving at 8 am from Manursing Island Club in Rye, NY and making a stop at North Hills Country Club in Nassau County and another stop at The Park and ride off exit 53 of the Long Island Expressway in Suffolk County.

This is an all day event and we will be returning to Manursing Island Club around midnight.
