Dear Fellow Club,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank General Manager John McGrath, Executive Chef Raymond Hollanda and his staff at the Lotus Club for an incredible evening. The food, the service and the ambiance were incredible.
I would also like to thank Craig Bridger the Brand Ambassador for The Glenlivet for his very informative presentation on the process and production of Glenlivet as well as the nuances and Characteristicsof various ages of scotch, 12, 15, 18,and 21 years old. Everyone had a very enjoyable evening.
Our July dinner meeting will take place on July 10, 2012 at The Restaurant North 386 Main Street Armonk NY 10504. (914) 273-8686 This event will be limited to about 50 guests so this event will be a first come first serve basis due to space constraints. The price per person for this event will be $125.00, payable in advance. Please make checks payable to Club Chefs of Westchester PO box 327, Botsford, CT 06404-0327 all payments must be received by July 1, 2012 as we will not allow payment at the door. We will be doing a cocktail hour with passed hors d’ oeuvres followed by a sit down dinner by Chef Eric Gabrynowicz , formally Sous Chef at the Union Square Cafe. This is sure to be a wonderful event.
Our annual education trip will be to Italy in January 2013, we are focusing on Sorrento and Rome. Mike Dolan and John Krall are working on having a preliminary itinerary at our September meeting which is tentatively at The Mill River Club hosted by Fay Reyes on September 11, 2012.
As a courtesy to your fellow Club Chefs please RSVP for our meetings in a timely fashion so that the hosting Chef can properly prepare staffing and Food and beverage for the event.
John Krall is working on a fundraiser for POTS an organization in the Bronx that feeds and cares for several hundred people a day. This event will be hosted by Eddie Loayza at The Hampshire Club on November 13, 2012. Please contact John at Manursing Island Club at (914) 967-6400 if you are interested in sponsoring a table or just want to lend a hand for a very worthy cause.
On a final note please submit your dues forms to your controller for payment so that we can all be current . As a reminder the fee for any guest at one of our meetings is $50.00. Retired members that were current prior to retirement are exempt from dues and will be considered non voting members. And lastly any member that is unemployed will have a one year grace period from dues and be able to attend any meeting and will retain his voting rights as long as his dues were current prior to unemployment.
