I would like to thank General Manager Albert Brunner, Assistant General Manager Gail Bowman, Catering Manager Dana Leichtweis and the entire staff of Manursing Island Club for hosting our January meeting.  I would like to personally thank my Sous Chef, Matthew Roche and my team for putting out a fantastic and tasty meal.  I would also like to extend my gratitude to Dana Leichtweis and her staff for superb service throughout the evening.

Our trip to Tuscany was "A Home Run," according to the majority of the Chefs who attended.  I would like to say thank you to all the Chefs for their support and participation throughout the trip.  I would also like to thank all the restaurateurs, and individual Italian purveyors and Wineries who educated and supported us each day.  They are all listed below.  I am in debt to Annie Palazzoli from Carre-Voyages for providing the transportation in such short notice.  Fabreszio did a marvelous job driving the bus; we loved being on the bus and just couldn’t get enough of it.  I would like to offer special thanks to Paolo Parigi and his family for their fine hospitality and some great meals at their Farmhouse, IL Greppo.  It was a beautiful place and a great setting to come back to each evening.  Those of you that have pictures, please forward them to Chef Lenny so we may post some of them on the website.  Please keep in mind Paolo is still looking for an importer for his great wine, if anyone has a contact please let me know.

Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday March 15, 2006 at Shenorock Shore Club.  Cocktails will begin @ 6:00 pm with meeting and dinner to follow.  We will be installing the new board members so please try to attend.  Please RSVP to Chef Lenny @ (914)-967-6722.

A number of you have requested that a Sanitation Class be set up for recertification.  I am looking into it and hope to have a definite date and site set for you by the next meeting.

The ACF is sponsoring a Culinary Competition that will apply towards anyone interested in Chef Certification.  The tentative date is Wednesday April 5, 2006.  To obtain more information, please contact Michael Murray at the Bronxville Field Club, (914)-664-3585.

I thank you for all of your support during my four years as a board member, especially these last two as President.  It’s been my pleasure to serve on the board; I hope I have served it well, and assisted in the growth of our organization.  I hope you will join me in continued support of our new board in building a stronger Club Chefs of Westchester.
