Dear fellow Club Chefs,

Our meeting on December 11 2007 was held at the New York Athletic Club Travers Island. Our deepest appreciation and thanks to General Manager Mark Sheehan, Dining Room Managers Brett Woodell and Alan Fuller, Executive Chef Andrew Ladd, and the rest of the Travers Island staff for hosting us that evening.

Chef Andrew gracefully gave tours of his club house and kitchen area and prepared an exceptional meal for all to enjoy. Also contributing to our cocktail reception were Roland Ladanza of Pasta People and Peter Leogrande of J.F. Clark Corporation, a representative of imported shrimp and seafood.  They put together an eye opening display and treated us with some delicious samplings of their products.
Also in attendance was John Proto of WineBow Importers. John contributed the wine for the night function which he paired with Chef Andrew for the cocktail reception and a four course dinner menu.

Educationally speaking were Steven and Seth Sklover of the Planning Center for Professionals, a father and son team of financial professionals who spoke on wealth accumulation and retirement planning. This was a very informative and necessary discussion, as chefs we have to be the care takers of our retirement future. Social security will not be enough to sustain our retirement life style. If you have not yet spoken to a professional planer please don’t wait any longer. Steven contact number is (212) 697-1355 ext 574 or Steven@pmlmail.com. Information is key.

The January educational trip to the Pacific North West is all set. Best wishes to all members attending and a very special thanks to John Krall, Mike Dolan and Andrew Howego for organizing the itinerary.

Our next meeting date is January 8 2008. The meeting will be held on Long Island at North Hills CC. Please contact Chef Andrew Krug at (516) 627-9100 ext 224 or e mail akrug@hotmail.com. The club is 10 to 15 minutes from the Throughs Neck or Whitestone bridges, a centralized location for our Westchester or Eastern Long Island members. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and starting the new year out with a great turn out.

Sincerely your,
Victor Flores
CCW. President.
